Baguio Food Tour 2015: Gogi Na Ra

I've eaten at Gogi Na Ra Korean Restaurant in Baguio a couple of times already so I'm happy that it was included on my Baguio Food Tour 2015 itinerary. The restaurant is owned by a husband and wife team (Korean and Filipina) and has been around for 4 years.

I love the interiors of the restaurant because it reminds me of the kdramas that I am watching. Also, the colors are so comfy and welcoming. There are also tables outside the resto and we all chose to sit there since we love the cool Baguio air.

Shabu-Shabu Beef and Seafood, P600.00. The shabu-shabu is one of the most popular dishes at Gogi Na Ra. The broth is so delicious! I had two servings of this. This pot size is the medium one which costs P600. The huge pot is pegged at P900.

Hae-Mul-Tang Spicy Seafood Soup, P600.00. I'm not really fond of spicy food and I almost didn't get to taste this but after some prodding, I did have a sip or two until I finished a whole bowl. Its spicy alright but unlike the biting spiciness of Thai dishes, Hae-Mul-Tang's spiciness disappears in a few seconds and it will make you crave for more.

Chili Squid Bento. What's notable here is the red rice. Since we are in Baguio City, most restaurants serve red or violet rice. Thumbs up for the chili squid. Perfect!

Samgyupsal (pork) P200, Hae-Mul (seafood) P200, Chadol-Balgi (beef) P300.00. Now this is what's making everybody drool. The meat is very tender as well as the squid. What you do is get a piece or two of meat, dip it in the soybean paste, and place in the middle of lettuce leaf. You can add some kimchi or other ban chan that you like or even rice. Wrap the lettuce around it and plop it in your mouth. Then repeat everything. This was grilled in front of us by the ajhussi owner of Gogi Na Ra. Kamsahamnida!

P.S. The kimchi tastes so good I think I consumed a whole serving plus an extra. We were told that ajhussi is very particular about maintaining the authenticity of the dishes that they are serving so the ingredients are all Korean products. I mean, including the salt, flour, etc. He said that it won't taste the same if you substitute it with a different brand.

That's my blogger friends- they can't wait for me to finish taking pictures. They're eating already. Aja!
