Sofitel Philippine Plaza's Spiral continues to up the notch when it comes to offering a gastronomic journey by bringing in the flavors of Wonderful Indonesia with its latest culinary series, Flavors of the World. Guest Chef Pradipta Bayu Primpaputra of Hotel Pullman Jakarta, Indonesia created a special Indonesian feast that will be served from March 13 to 19, 2017.
Stemming from Indonesia's rich culture coupled with passion and appreciation for Indonesian cuisine, Chef Pradipta followed his passion and has trained with Ritz Carlton Doha and Culture Royale.
Chef Pradipta will introduce heritage dishes rooted from Javanese, Sumatra, Sulawesi and Balinese cuisine. Fresh herbs and spices are predominant in Indonesian food so expect a really colorful and flavorful gastronomic experience.
Featured dishes include Mie Goreng, a spicy noodle dish and Bihun Goreng, wok-fried Vermicelli noodles and vegetables. Satays and other meat dishes like Beef Rendang Padang and Beef Empal are also served. There's also Nasi Goreng, Tumis Kacang Panjang Dan Ebi and Es Tebak.
Wonderful Flavors of Indonesia are available at the Asian Section of Spiral for lunch and dinner from March 13 to 19, 2017 with rates at P2,650 nett and P3,100 nett respectively.
For those who want to learn how to cook authentic Indonesian food, Chef Pradipta will hold an exclusive cooking class on March 14, 2017 at four in the afternoon (4pm). Chef Pradipta will teach how to make Kambing Guling, Ayaw Taliwang, Bebek Betutu, Ikan Dabu-dabu, Beef Rendang Padang and Iga Balado. Rate is P1,500 nett per person. And on March 15 at 6pm, witness the culinary expertise of Chef Pradipta as he prepares signature dishes exclusively for the Chef's Table. This is a 4-course menu that includes Gado-Gado, Sate Lilit, Soto Ayam Madura, Ayam Bakar Bumbu Rujak with Tumis Buncis and Udang, followed by Kolak Pisang with Buah Segar for dessert. Rate is P4,200 nett per person.

Gado-Gado. This is boiled fresh vegetables in peanut sauce.
Beef Rendang Padang. A beef dish stewed in coconut milk and spices.
Jackfruit and Calamansi Drink. A refreshing drink with a perfect blend of jackfruit and calamansi. This is non-alcoholic.
Es Cendol. This dessert is made by adding dried seaweed, coconut milk, syrup and ice. It is similar to our halo-halo.
