Pre-Chinese New Year Dinner at Wai Ying

My balikbayan sister-in-law was craving for some dimsums and Chinese food and since she's been staying with us, we decided to join the festivities at Manila's Chinatown the night before Chinese New Year. After buying some trinkets and herbal oils, we ended up at Wai Ying.

Started our meal with these meaty and juicy siomais. Yum!


We haven't visited Wai Ying for a long time so we're all excited to order. 


Daughter can't resist the hakaws. These are plump shrimps with thinly slices of ginger, wrapped in pouches made from rice powder and then steamed. You can dip it in black vinegar, chili sauce, or eat it as it is.


Weather was still chilly that time so I got myself a bowl of Beef Brisket Noodles. Serving is kinda huge but hubby helped me finish it off.


Hubby's favorite at Wai Ying is the White Chicken with Minced Chive, Garlic and Oil.


Daughter ordered Fish Fillet with Creamed Corn Sauce. She says tastes okay lang.


My sister-in-law got the Duck Asado. She said it is a filling meal although not that great. But she's happy with the hakaw and siomai. :)


Although Wai Ying serves free house tea, it is always a treat to order Iced Hong Kong Milk Tea.
