Delectable Desserts at Recipes Specialties & Sweets

I have high respect for restaurants who serve consistent tasting (delicious and memorable) dishes throughout the years and one of them is Recipes Restaurant in Greenbelt. It's been one of our favorite restaurant in the area since daughter was still in her toddler years- no kidding.


I always associate Recipes Restaurant with Crispy Tilapia and Gising-Gising (next photo). These two dishes was really stuck to my memory that it becomes a regular routine to order them whenever we visit the restaurant. The crispy tilapia was so good and crispy that there was a time I tried replicating it in my kitchen. Of course, I also had a hard time convincing the staff from the grocery who cleans the fish to fillet the tilapia for me. Anyways, I only had one attempt with the crispy tilapia ... I realized that its easier to just order it at Recipes. And the "sawsawan" or dipping sauce is quite good also. You can just request for a "sili" if you like it spicy.


So here is the Gising-Gising. Like the crispy tilapia, this dish also found its way into my kitchen- hahaha. But then again, I prefer eating this dish at Recipes. I believe that these two dishes are one of the popular ones and all-time bestseller at the restaurant.


Truth be told, the other dishes at Recipes are quite good also- the kare-kare, General's Chicken, etc. But everyone has a favorite and mine happens to be the crispy tilapia and gising-gising.

I know Recipes doesn't serve desserts but when they opened their latest branch in Greenhills, they added a special corner for sweets and coffee.

Barako Brownie. This is the perfect dessert to end a meal at Recipes. It's like you're having coffee and dessert at the same time. Very smooth. Yum!


Rocky Road Cookies. Kids and the not-kids will surely enjoy a cookie or three of these. It's hard to stop at just one.


Red Velvet Cupcakes. My daughter is quite an expert when it comes to anything red velvet gave this cupcake her nod.


Calamansi Tart. And I thought I love the Barako Brownie but after a bite of this Calamansi Tart, I realized that I'm smitten! I am not fond of anything citrus but this has the perfect blend of sugar and calamansi that it made me forget that I'm eating calamansi tart. And it's not too sweet just in case you're wondering if it is sugar-laden. This is a must-order dessert when you visit Recipes Greenhills. Thumbs up!
