Australian Oranges - Now In Season

The Australian Embassy, along with Citrus Australia recently launch "Australian Oranges- Now in Season" at Bondi & Bourke in Makati City. Aside from the launch, the guests were also treated to a cooking demo by Chef Wade Watson of Bondi & Bourke, Chris Everingham of the Philippine Volcanoes, Fely Irvine and Iya Villania.



"We are delighted to share Australia's quality, safe and sweet oranges with Filipinos. Like Australians, Filipinos know their fruit and enjoy a strong fruit culture," said Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Bill Twedell. "Australia's pristine growing environment and stringent food safety standards ensure that Australian oranges are of superior quality."


Chef Wade said that oranges can be enjoyed not only as a healthy delicious and snack, and not just as a fruit with vitamin C. It can also be used as an ingredient in a range of sweet and savoury recipes. Oranges have long been considered a valuable part of a healthy and nutritious diet. It is well established that nutrients in citrus promote health and provide protection against chronic disease.

Australian Oranges - Now in Season runs from 28 July to 31 August 2015 in the key outlets of Landmark, Robinsons, Rustan's, S&R, Shopwise, and SM Supermarkets.
