The Village Tavern Presents: Wagyu Gourmet Burgers

It's hard to find "great" tasting burger near my place in Manila but this unobtrusive "pub" at Bonifacio High Street Central is worth the long trip. The Village Tavern opened its first branch in Winston Salem NC in 1984 and has expanded  since then, the 11th store happens to be the one in BGC and its first international branch outside USA and is under the helm of Bistro Group of Restaurants.

The Village Tavern is known for its whole wheat flatbreads, steaks, ribs, crab cakes and burgers.

Award-winning Chef Josh Boutwood created four gourmet burgers using the fabled wagyu Japanese beef plus toppings that will surely blow your mind away, will tickle the senses and will make you think you've gone to burger heaven. All patties are made with the highest grade of Wagyu beef and homemade pretzel bun.

Foie Gras Burger. This burger is topped with pan seared foie gras which has a satiny texture that spells luxury at its finest. Each bite should be savored slowly to experience its divine taste.

Truffle Wagyu Burger. Another delightful creation but equally sinful as the Foie Gras burger. This gourmet burger experience has generous truffle-infused mayo, velvety asiago cheese and shitake mushrooms.

Tequilla Wagyu Burger. Who says burgers and tequilla spells trouble? This baby has Wagyu patty that is grilled to perfection, and the flavor of tequilla gives it an added "kick." This burger is guaranteed to make you sweat in a good way.

Reuben Wagyu Burger. Simply a masterpiece and far from being ordinary. This burger has succulent tasting beef brisket, pickled cabbage and fried egg to complete the experience. A must for meat lovers!

My fave among the four gourmet burger is the Foie Gras Burger. I love the rich texture of foie gras on the burger- nevermind the calories and cholesterol. ;) Btw, the restaurant also serves beer and mouthwatering desserts.
