NEW RESTO ALERT: Barley Gastropub

A great place to hangout after a tired day's work or simply to dine-in-style with your love one. This restaurant/bar is the latest on Sgt. Esguerra's food strip. It is located at the El Jardin Presidente Condo. It's not that hard to miss this place since its several steps away from El Jardin's gate.

The place can seat around 50 pax comfortably while the al fresco area also has a seating capacity of the same number. I like how "clean" the interiors are. I mean, its not crowded with decorative stuff nor painted in bright colors. The subdued colors makes the place relaxing.

Aside from tables, there are also couches on the second floor area where one can chill out with friends over a bottle of wine or beer. The muted lights also makes the mood romantic so you definitely must choose a seat here when you are with your sweetheart. ;)

Lovely bar. Barley has an extensive selection of imported and local beers, wine and liquors.

These beers, or lager are proudly Philippine-made. Fat Pauly is being brewed in Iligan. The one on the left is a special brew named Justin Wanker- Justin owns Barley Gastropub with his wife, Tin.

Beer selections. There's Fat Pauly, Asahi, Corona, Heineken, Stella Artois, among others.

Fried Brie. I love brie because it is not a fussy cheese nor that foul smelling. This is my first time for me to have a bite of fried brie because the usual fried cheeses being served elsewhere are mostly soft cheese that easily melts. Brie, when fried remain soft but doesn't melt. Hmmm... what about Fried Camembert? *hint* *hint*

Rockin' Oyster Rockefeller. Big fat juicy oysters topped with spinach, cheese and bacon. Oh la la ...

Risotto Balls. This one's quite interesting.

Roasted Bone Marrow. How sinful yet heavenly good. Add some marrow and garlic, a sprinkle of pink himalayan salt and squeeze some lemon on your toast then start savoring it. Just a reminder: this is for sharing, do not attempt to finish this dish by your lonesome.

Foie Gras Burger. Wow, look at the size of the foie gras! I love foie gras- See previous foie gras entry here. The size of the burger is good for sharing.

Crackling Pork Belly. Another heavenly dish. Thumbs up!

Angus Ribeye Cheesesteak. You can't go wrong with angus beef. I just wish that instead of fries, they served  it with mashed potatoes. Or rice! ;)

Lamb Shank Osso Buco. The lamb was so tender it falls off the bone. Really, no kidding. This I can eat every single day. Never mind the calories, I don't count! Hahaha

Mushroom Pizza with Truffle Oil. Two thumbs up.

Warm Chocolate Cake with Salted Caramel Sauce. This is l-o-v-e. I'll just request for a much more generous serving of caramel sauce next time. :D
