RECIPE: Pork Sausage Fried Rice

We had some leftover rice from last night's dinner so its Fried Rice Day today. You see, we don't usually have the luxury of eating fried rice at home since I make it a point to only cook the exact amount of rice during our meals at home. But yesterday was an exception since we stayed out late and had our dinner somewhere.

Also, I have a box of Kwong Bee Pork Sausage. This was a pasalubong from a friend a few months back. According to her, this is one of the best pork sausage in Cebu City. Yey!

Nice fat sausages! Needs to be refrigerated once you open the pack. I kept the pack in the pantry and forgot all about it until today. Still looks okay. :)

Ingredients:

leftover rice
1 sausage or depends upon how much rice you have, minced
50g beef tapa (Angus Cow)
1 small carrot, minced
1 medium onion, minced
1 egg, fried and thinly sliced
garlic powder
salt
ground pepper
fresh basil

Procedure:

Cook sausage and beef tapa in a non-stick pan until cooked. No need to put oil since those two ingredients will lend its oil to the pan. Fry the egg separately with just a hint of oil on the pan. Then slice it thinly. Add the minced carrot and onions to the meat, season with salt and pepper. Add the egg and the rice. Season again with salt and pepper according to taste. Add some basil leaves for garnish and added flavor. Chow time!
